What we collect.

This site is a placeholder. Babage is being rebuilt, so there is very little here — an email form, and the analytics any small site uses to see whether it’s working.

If you leave your email

We store the address you give us, the page you gave it on, and the time you did. If you signed up on a teacher’s or a class’s page, we record which one — that’s how we work out what to bring back first. We also log the country your request came from and your browser’s user-agent string, which arrive with any web request.

What we do with it

We email you when the studio opens, or when the teacher or class you asked about comes back. That’s the whole purpose. We don’t sell it, we don’t rent it, and we don’t add you to anything you didn’t ask for.

If you apply to teach

The application form asks for more — your name, what you teach, where you teach now, roughly how large your audience is, and where you’re based. We use it to decide whether to talk to you about a studio, and for nothing else. A person reads it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and PostHog to count visits and see which pages people reach — the same basic measurement most sites run. They set cookies and record things like the pages you view, your rough location and your device. We use this in aggregate to understand whether the site is doing its job; we don’t use it to identify you personally, and we don’t sell it. If you’d rather not be measured, a browser that blocks analytics (or a tracker-blocking extension) will stop both.

Getting it removed

Email hello@babage.com and we’ll delete your record. No forms, no hoops.
